{Truly Lovely} Craft with Kassi

I'm absolutely honored to be doing a blog swap today with 

Kassi of Truly Lovely.  

I was drawn to her page when I saw it was her and her sister that started it. I have two sisters and they are my absolute best friends. I secretly wanted another girl when I found out I was pregnant with Sawyer because all I knew was how special a sister bond can be. Of course, now my little man melts my heart and I couldn't be happier with that little boy in my life. But I've always cherished my friendship with my two sisters. I think it's awesome that she too has such an amazing relationship with her sister that they even shared the passion for blogging together. So cool. 

Anyways, Kassi is also extremely talented in the "crafty" category and when we decided to swap I told her my blog is desperate for a craft over here! Something easy! So that's what she did.

Halloween is ALMOST here! Only a few days left to prepare!!!

So here's a quick, easy Halloween craft for those last minute decorations!! 

Spider Web Candles

First, I bought two white candles at Wal-Mart. 

Then used my Silhouette SD to cut out two spider webs in black vinyl. 

The spider web is a FREE shape included with the software!

If you don't have a Silhouette, you could easily purchase a sheet of Halloween stickers, or if you're really ambitious... 
Trace an outline of a spiderweb onto some vinyl (you can get a large sheet at Wal-Mart for less than $10) and cut it out with an Exacto knife or scissors. 


Carefully stick your cutouts (or stickers) onto the candles and smooth all edges. 

Done! Quick and easy! And so, so cute!

Puzzles with Sawyer! {video}

So I've mentioned a few times how much my little Sawyer loves puzzles.

I'm so not joking about this! He probably spends an hour a day doing puzzles.. maybe longer. I can't believe how many times he will sit there, finish the puzzle and just dump it out and start again.

I don't recall Addy being able to do puzzles like this at 19 months. But I have the worst memory ever since having children...I know some of you mammas out there are saying AMEN!

I'm proud of my little nug bug! 

Yes, I call him that. I have no idea why. Oh the names we come up with to call our kids!! 

I even sing to him this whole song to the tune of "This Little Light of Mine," and I have replaced the world "light" with "nug." Think I'm weird yet? lol. I think it started when he was a baby and I called him a little nugget. I had all these names for Addy as a girl, and I didn't know what to call a baby boy so "nugget" or "nug bug" stuck. There you have it.

The videos are a tad long because he does each puzzle twice..actually the first one 3 times I think. This first video I took last night and he was pretty tired, but still going with the puzzles. There wasn't too much chatting going on. lol. The second one I took this morning. Sawyer is officially 19 months old TODAY! 

Too easy... 

Soon to be too easy... 

Simple conviction.

The kids are actually napping together and I'm preparing for our bible study tonight that my husband and I lead at our house. We have about 15-18 people here each Tuesday evening and it's awesome. Some go to our church, and a few don't. We all gather to talk and study and it's fabulous. Did I already mention that? lol. 

We are currently studying the book of John at my church.

We even end some nights busting out the juicer and making random concoctions!! Oh I have to post about the juicer soon!!!  Fresh carrot-apple juice... YUM!

Anyways, I was studying.. and a few verses literally jumped off the page at me.

Maybe they will bring someone some comfort today... 

"If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world." John 12:47 ESV 

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:27 ESV

I know that this first one really spoke to me. Judgement is something that I think we all struggle with if we are being completely honest. If Jesus didn't even come to judge the world, why do we?

I've definitely learned to love people more and more, but at times my old self will rear it's ugly head and I'll get that feeling in me, "why would she post that??" or "why would she do that?" 

I think even checking out new blogs I am measuring them up at times and I hate it. I'm sure people do it to me as well.

How dare I judge someone. 

But the simple conviction I feel actually encourages me... 

Just makes me get on my knees and thank the Lord. 

He is not done with me. 

There is still a lot of work in my heart and He will not finish that work in me until my last day.

Ten things Sawyer {19 mos.} is thankful for.

Now it's Sawyer's turn!

At 19 months old {tomorrow!!} he can't tell me everything that he is thankful for quite yet, but these are the things that make that little smile on his face light up every day!

Okay and Mommy & Daddy are a given for this one... so besides us, here goes!

1. Big sister by far takes the number 1 spot.

2. His toothbrush. He seriously LOVES brushing his teeth!

3. A sippy cup of milk. Warm please.

4. PUZZLES. He does a whole puzzle like this by himself. Loves them.

5. Rock star binky, but he ONLY likes it at bedtime.

6. Doggy & Froggy

7. Water bottles with the cap off. A favorite game.

8. Doggy blanky

9. Cars. REAL ones. {and a shameless plug for our auto shop! lol}

10. Hugs. His sweet, random hugs just melt me...
