At first the thought of taking a family photo session without my step-son here sounded like the worst idea in the world.
My step-son lives out of the state.
Something that has been very hard for us to grasp...
But as time has gone on, and some healing has been done in my heart, I've realized that God wants us to still have joy... He doesn't want us to live each day miserably. Although we may wish that we had a full family photo for each shoot, we have to be thankful for the ones that we do get with him and not rob ourselves of the joy of documenting our kids growing up before our eyes for the times that he is not.
"But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful
praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love
your name may be filled with joy."
{Psalm 5:11}
Although the photos will never look complete, I know these memories are going to mean the world to us over the years...
I truly look forward to the next time we have a full family photo taken.
My babies are getting so big... these are precious, precious times in our lives and I don't ever want to forget them...more to come. ♥
